The state of New Jersey has extended its lease for more than 13,000 square feet at an East Hanover industrial building, brokers with The Blau & Berg Co. announced Tuesday.
According to the team, the space at 44 Deforest Ave. is part of a larger 38,000-square-foot facility made up of several research and development labs. The extension for the 13,242-square-foot unit follows an initial lease for two years.
Blau & Berg Senior Associate Troy Schaafsma and Executive Vice President Alessandro (Alex) Conte acted as both the listing and procuring brokers.
“We were confident that we found a space that fit the very specific requirements the state of New Jersey set forth,” Schaafsma said, “but as is the nature of any state lease, there was an initial trial period. We were pleased that, based on the locale and proximity to other cooperating state agencies, along with the benefits of the space itself, they determined that this facility was more than sufficient for their needs and were comfortable signing a lengthy extension.”
