Construction management firm Magnico has announced two new partnerships aimed at expanding its offerings for clients along the East Coast.
Based in Lakewood, the company has entered into what it described as a strategic alliance with Newlines Engineering & Survey and Alpine Air, a heating, cooling and plumbing business. The full-service team will operate under the Magnico brand, with Magnico founder Moshe Braude serving as chief operating officer and managing day-to-day operations and Josh Schmuckler, Newlines chief operating officer, serving as CEO of Magnico.
The alliance enables Magnico to perform a full scope of engineering and predevelopment services, according to a news release, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
“We were ready to expand as a company and the opportunity to work with Newlines and Alpine Air presented itself,” said Braude, who was named to Mid Atlantic Real Estate Journal’s 40 Under 40 list in 2019. “Magnico’s philosophy is centered on delivering unparalleled service, built on technology, service, clarity and communication. Alongside this commitment, Magnico, Newlines and Alpine Air prioritize delivering top-tier work.”
Magnico’s services include construction management, design-build, disaster recovery and mitigation, general contracting and owners’ representation services in multiple sectors, including government, health care, industrial, institutional, office and retail, the news release said. The new alliance comes as the suburban redevelopment sector across the Northeast continues to strengthen, the firm added, pointing to major projects such as Netflix’s plan to build an $848 million production facility on the former U.S. Army post at Fort Monmouth.
The company also pointed to Lakewood’s exponential population growth in recent years, while noting that it has offices in Florida and Connecticut. It recently completed 100,000 square feet of design-build health care projects and is currently managing construction of a ground-up, 44-unit multifamily development at 3115 Fairfield Ave. in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Newlines, meantime, has played a key role in redevelopment projects such as the 240-acre Cedar Bridge office, hotel and retail development in Lakewood.
“I’ve long believed that a project’s success hinges on its pre-construction phase,” Braude said. “The more services we can manage from the outset, the greater the likelihood of achieving cost-effectiveness across multiple aspects of the project, from execution to finances. Our union with Newlines and our affiliated MEP companies gives Magnico an edge in the competitive construction management process.”
