A new ShopRite is coming to Hillsborough as part of a 120,000-square-foot development that’s slated to break ground early next year, according to a leasing team with RIPCO Real Estate.
Its developer, Village Super Market, has operated the township’s existing ShopRite on Route 206 since 1985. The new store is slated for a location about a mile to the south, at the Homestead Road intersection, where it will anchor a project that also includes 40,000 square feet of end cap and in-line space for retail and service uses, along with drive-through pad sites.
RIPCO noted that, at 80,000 square feet, the new ShopRite will be 20,000 square feet larger than the existing supermarket.
“With customers coming two to three times a week, you would be hard-pressed to find a better shopping center anchor than ShopRite,” said RIPCO’s Curtis Nassau, who is working alongside Jake Frantzman and Patrick Brake to spearhead leasing efforts for the new development.
Village expects to start building the new shopping center in the first quarter of 2024, RIPCO said in a news release. Located on the southeast corner of Route 206 and Homestead Road, the complex will use the existing traffic light amd have multiple access points, a large parking field and high visibility from the busy highway.
“We’ve already had terrific interest from national restaurants, franchise spa and salon operators and from several traditional national brick-and-mortar retailers,” Frantzman said.
Brake added: “The new ShopRite Center has terrific reach. With approximately 30,000 cars a day, U.S. 206 is a vital conduit between Princeton and Bridgewater and beyond. And, Hillsborough is situated right in the middle.”
