Construction is underway on a new 78,000-square-foot industrial building in Piscataway, in the second speculative project to break ground recently at Rutgers Industrial Center.
According to Levin Management Corp., the facility at 30 Duke Road is slated for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2023. It will mark the seventh building at the complex, which is now slated to grow to some 650,000 square feet, benefiting from a location a half-mile from Exit 8 of Interstate 287 and five miles from the New Jersey Turnpike.
LMC is the asset manager for Rutgers Industrial Center and also manages construction for 30 Duke Road, a single-story building that will have 40-foot clear ceiling heights, 13 bays, a modern sprinkler system and 2,000-amp electrical service. Cushman & Wakefield’s Chuck Fern, Jason Barton and Jack Winge make up the leasing team for the complex.
The park’s other speculative warehouse project, at 101 Circle Drive North, is nearing completion, according to a news release. In February, LMC announced a 30,000-square-foot, full-building lease there with electronics manufacturer RCF USA.
“This market continues to draw last-mile delivery requirements,” said Matthew Harding, LMC’s CEO. “With 101 Circle Drive North and 30 Duke Road, Rutgers Industrial Center is meeting the needs of users looking for build-out-ready warehouse space with easy access to the entire metropolitan region and beyond.”
