A designer tile company has leased more than 80,000 square feet at an Edison industrial building, in a newly announced transaction by CBRE.
According to the brokerage team, Roca Tile will relocate its distribution space to 74 Carter Drive from 8001 Industrial Ave. in Carteret. It will occupy the entire 80,250-square-foot building under the deal with Wick Cos., filling a space that was previously home to North American Logistics Group.
CBRE’s Chad Hillyer, Kevin Dudley, Tristan Askew, Jake Westfall, Nicholas Klacik and Kate Granahan represented the tenant, a designer ceramic tile manufacturer and distributor.
“Roca Tile was looking to expand their warehouse and distribution space, while also pursuing the trend of tenants seeking more economic rent in lower-cost submarkets,” Hillyer said. “74 Carter Drive provided a Class A opportunity and a full-building identity with all the necessary requirements to fit the tenant’s expansion needs.”
CBRE noted that 74 Carter, which was built in 2018, has 32-foot clear ceiling heights, 14 loading docks, ample power and parking for 29 vehicles. The single-story building is within the 14-acre, three-building Edison Commerce Center that’s minutes from Interstate 287, Route 1 and Route 27.
