Investment and development firm Saxum Real Estate has announced the promotion of two key members of its Summit-based team.
According to the company, David Schoer is now director of accounting and operations after joining its ranks in 2018. He has been a key contributor to Saxum’s growth and success across its multiple verticals, the firm said, leading areas such as operations, budget forecasting, property management, taxes and insurance, fund administration, technology and human resources.
Schoer spearheads many aspects of the firm to ensure efficient performance and growth of its platform, which now comprises a 37-person team with some $2 billion in assets under management across its three offices.
“Dave’s selflessness, team-first attitude and relentless work ethic coupled with his versatility and ability to execute deliverables make him a tremendous teammate,” said Anthony Rinaldi, Saxum’s founder and managing principal. “His leadership has been a critical force fueling Saxum’s growth and success. The list of Dave’s accomplishments is long, and we are extremely grateful for his important and meaningful contributions through the years.”
The firm, meantime has promoted Lucas Malavarca to vice president of asset management. Since he joined Saxum in 2019, his role and responsibilities have progressed and expanded in the property management and asset management fields across its portfolio, according to a news release, while he has executed its vision of repurposing distressed assets in transit-oriented downtown neighborhoods.
The company added that Malavarca will remain integral to managing its nationwide portfolio of ground-up developments as well as stabilized multifamily and student housing assets.
“Lucas is an incredible asset to Saxum,” said Chad DeBolt, a managing director and principal. “He is humble and extremely hardworking, always diligent in executing on the firm’s portfolio, often behind the scenes.
