Solar Landscape has completed its latest projects in New Jersey with the debut of rooftop solar installations at two warehouses in the Exit 8A submarket.
According to the firm, the projects include the largest to date under the state’s landmark community solar program, which allows commercial property owners to lease their roofs to solar developers. The company joined landlord Heitman Capital Management and local officials recently to energize the 4.99-megawatt array, at 1 Costco Drive in Monroe, which will provide discounted energy to nearly 830 homes in the area.
Those on hand included Monroe Mayor Stephen Dalina, South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond J. Hayducka Jr. and Solar Landscape CEO Shaun Keegan.
“Providing access to affordable renewable energy to our residents, without having to put solar panels on their homes, offers an option to reduce energy costs and is environmentally responsible,” Dalina said. “We welcome this state-sponsored community solar program offering through Solar Landscape to Monroe Township as it improves affordability.”
Solar Landscape, which is based in Asbury Park, has also energized a 3.84-megawatt rooftop project at a Heitman-owned building in South Brunswick, according to a news release. Located on Corn Road, the installation will serve more than 600 households.
The projects follow other milestones for the company, including the recent announcement that it received a 2023 American-Made Sunny Award Grand Prize from the U.S. Department of Energy. In August, it revealed a 133-site partnership with Public Storage that will serve more than 10,000 homes in Illinois, Maryland and New Jersey.

Linda Greenstein added: “As a proud supporter of clean energy and the fight against climate change, I would like to congratulate everyone involved in bringing this record-breaking community solar project to completion. Community solar has proven to be an equitable, cost-effective way of providing clean and renewable energy to our most vulnerable residents of New Jersey, helping both lower customer utility costs and help our state reach our goal of 100 percent renewable energy by 2035.”
