Yardi has acquired Planimetron, which provides space management tools for commercial property operators and owners. The move targets the increasing demand for space management in office, retail and industrial properties.
Founded in 1983, Planimetron provides software that supports visual decisions, identifying opportunities and potential risks in a portfolio. The solution uses occupancy and performance data in combination with real estate and spatial data.
Propidex, Planimetron’s space management platform, will be rebuilt under Yardi’s ownership. Market launch is anticipated for 2023. The platform will be rebranded as Space Manager and incorporated into CommercialEdge, Yardi’s suite of revenue-focused solutions.
One-stop shop
Space Manager’s tools will enable commercial real estate owners and managers to edit, store and share site and floorplans from a central location. In conjunction with CommercialEdge and the Yardi Elevate asset management suite, Space Manager will facilitate marketing, forecasting, leasing and construction activities.
In another recent move that reflects the growing prominence of flex office, Yardi teamed up with WeWork to create a WeWork Workplace, a platform with a variety of tools to meet the rapidly changing needs of flex office users. Launched in July, WeWork Workplace provides interactive floor maps, management systems for visitor access, automated overflow management and a solution for reserving team space.
In July, Yardi also launched CoworkingCafe.com, a suite of coworking and flex office tools, and acquired a news and information source, CoworkingMag.
Note: Yardi Systems is the parent company of Commercial Property Executive.
